The Secret to a Sculpted, Glowing Look
We’ve all had those mornings where we wake up looking a little puffy and less-than radiant. The culprit? A sluggish lymphatic system. Your lymphatic system is your body’s dedicated waste-removal network. When it’s working properly, it flushes out toxins, excess fluid, and cellular debris, keeping everything moving along as it should.
When it becomes slowed up – due to stress, lack of sleep, or diet – that fluid can build up, leading to puffiness, dullness, and even breakouts. A lymphatic massage for face is a gentle, targeted technique designed to manually stimulate lympathic drainage, encouraging your body to get rid of that excess fluid. The results are immediate: a more sculpted, defined jawline, reduced puffiness around the eyes, and improved circulation that leaves skin looking full of life.
Your At-Home Ritual for Radiant Skin
You don’t need to wait for a spa day to see the benefits. It’s easy to incorporate a lymphatic massage into your skincare routine and it only takes a few minutes. Adding it in a few times a week will yield beautiful results!
Step 1: Prep and Product
Never perform a massage on dry skin. You need a product that provides enough “slip” to allow your fingers to glide without pulling or tugging at the delicate facial skin. This is the perfect moment for a nourishing, oil-based serum.
We, of course, recommend our Rejuvenating Serum that is packed with beautiful, antioxidant-rich oils like Argan and Jojoba. It helps you perform your massage effectively while also deeply nourishing the skin and calming inflammation. Apply a few drops to your fingertips and gently press it onto your face and neck.
Step 2: The Gentle Touch Technique
The key is to use feather-light pressure. The lymphatic system sits just below the surface of the skin, so you don’t need to press hard. The goal is to gently guide the fluid.
- Awaken the System: Start by placing your fingertips on the soft spots just above your collarbones (the supraclavicular nodes). Gently “pump” or press this area 5-10 times. This opens up the primary drainage point.
- The Forehead: Place your fingers flat in the middle of your forehead and gently sweep outwards towards your temples. Repeat 3-5 times.
- The Eyes: Use your ring finger (it has the lightest touch) to gently press and sweep from the inner corner of your under-eye area, up and around the orbital bone, towards the temples. This is incredible for reducing morning puffiness.
- The Cheeks and Jawline: Place your fingers on either side of your nose and sweep outwards underneath your cheekbones. Then, move to your chin and sweep up along your jawline towards your ears. This helps to create that sculpted, defined look.
- The Final Drain: To finish, take all the fluid you’ve moved and guide it down. Gently sweep your fingers from your temples and ears down the sides of your neck to those points on your collarbone you started with. Repeat 3-5 times.
Step 3: Elevate Your Ritual with a Tool
To take your at-home lymphatic massage for face to the next level, we recommend using a tool like our Magic Glow Wand. The ‘Massage’ setting mimics the lymphatic drainage techniques we use in our facials by gently stimulating the tissue to move fluid. As an added bonus, it helps your serum penetrate your skin more deeply to give you a brighter, glowing look.
