The best way to treat your skin after a CoolPeel treatment.

To ensure you get the best, safest results after your CoolPeel CO2 treatment in Philadelphia, please refer to the following instructions:

 

IMMEDIATELY AFTER TREATMENT:

Please know that redness, swelling and a mildly sunburned sensation should be expected for 1-5 days after your CoolPeel treatment.

  • Immediately after washing, or whenever skin feels uncomfortable, apply an occlusive, soothing product like Alastin Skin Regenerating Nectar. 
  • Reapply post-treatment product every 3-4 hours to keep the area moist.
  • Avoid exposure to the sun.
  • A cool compress may be used, especially around the eyes, to help minimize swelling and inflammation
    • Please make sure cold-compress is wrapped in something sterile.

Starting 48-hours after treatment:

  • Wash the treatment area with a gentle cleanser, gently blot dry with a clean, soft towel.
  • Use sunscreen religiously: Apply a broad-spectrum, mineral based sunscreen with SPF-45 or higher daily, even on cloudy days.

BEST PRACTICES FOR DAYS 1-7+ AFTER TREATMENT:

  • Do not scrub or exfoliate treatment area for 5 to 10 days.
  • You can resume wearing makeup 2 to 5 days after treatment. (For makeup, please make sure to use mineral-based products with clean / freshly sanitized brushes and sponges.)
  • Avoid prolonged, direct sunlight: Minimize sun exposure, especially for the first 10 to 14-days after treatment.
  • Avoid heat: Stay away from hot showers, saunas, and hot tubs for at least 2-4 days.
  • Avoid sweaty exercising: Refrain from strenuous activities that can cause excessive sweating for 2-4 days after treatment.
  • Wash your hands before touching your face… and try not to touch your face.
  • Do not allow pets to sleep near you, nor lick the treated areas.
  • To minimize the chance of swelling, please add an extra pillow to keep your head elevated.
    • Sleep on a clean pillowcase and change frequently.

GOLDEN RULES:

  • Trust the processTemporary redness, swelling, or soreness are normal signs of healing.

DAY 6 AFTER TREATMENT: You can resume regular skin routine

  • If any of your regular products cause discomfort, wash your face with cool water and try again the next day.

Vinegar Soaks may help skin feel nice 3+ days after a more aggressive CO2 treatment
Recipe: 1 Tbsp distilled white vinegar to 1 Cup water
Instructions: Moisten gauze or washcloth with this mixture and apply to the desired area. Can be applied multiple times throughout the day, keep extra solution refrigerated for extra soothing.

For future planning: CO2 resurfacing treatments will get you beautiful results after one session, but on average the best results are achieved when done as a series once a month for at least 2-months. Once you achieve your desired results, you may switch to a yearly maintenance plan for upkeep.
