From elevating your favourite risotto to forming the base of body and wellbeing-enhancing teas, it’s clear the ‘shroom boom’ is here to stay. But have you ever thought of treating your skin to these ultra-nourishing superfoods?

Mushrooms are some of the most versatile living organisms on the planet, having existed on earth for approximately 1.5 billion years and used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for centuries. With over 14,000 varieties, only half of which are edible, it’s no surprise humans have found so many uses for these antioxidant-rich fungi!
Tremella Mushroom
Over the past decade, mushrooms have infiltrated the beauty industry thanks to their countless benefits. For this reason, we’ve enriched our new serum foundation with beauty-boosting tremella, also known as the snow mushroom! A powerhouse ingredient that offers a host of advantages, here’s why we’ve blended it into our Liquid Radiance Adaptogen Serum Foundation.

Mushroom Skin Benefits:

  • Mushrooms contain amino acid, glutamine, which can be found in small amounts in our bodies, and in foods like white rice and tofu. When you apply mushroom extract topically, glutamine helps to soothe inflammation (great news for sensitive skin). If your skin is experiencing stress, this amino acid plays a key part in your body’s response to help minimise aggravation.
  • Tremella, shiitake and reishi mushrooms are classified as adaptogens. Applying adaptogens to the skin can help it to recover from environmental stressors such as UV radiation, pollution and toxins.
  • Mushrooms also have powerful antioxidant properties that can neutralise free radicals created by environmental stressors, as well as anti-inflammatory properties to help calm and repair the skin (making it beneficial for sensitive or reactive skin types).

Why is the Tremella Mushroom (Aka the Snow Mushroom) Good for Your Skin?

  1. Deep Hydration: Tremella holds up to 500 times its weight in water, keeping the skin plump and moisturised – similar to hyaluronic acid, but with smaller particles that can penetrate the skin more effectively.
  2. Anti-Ageing: Its hydrating properties support skin elasticity and help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, promoting a smoother, more youthful complexion.
  3. Brightening: Promotes radiance, helps even out skin tone, and reduces the appearance of dark spots and hyperpigmentation.
  4. Improved Skin Barrier Function: Enhances the skin’s natural barrier, helping to lock in moisture and protect against external aggressors.
  5. Enhanced Absorption: Its polysaccharide content not only moisturises but also helps other active ingredients in skincare products to be absorbed more effectively.

As a master aesthetician, I must say I am not a fan of a lot of beauty tools out there. There are so many fun modalities and machines I get to work with in the beauty industry, and to tell ya the truth so many of them don’t hold up to my standards.  I’m trusted

What is our Glass Skin Microneedling...

A cocktail of hyaluronic + micro-dosed neurotoxin + stem cells + peptides This treatment is a collagen booster, promotes healthy cell turnover and has a mild tightening effect. Microneedling in this manner deposits hyaluronic acid in the superficial layers of skin where it can attract water to hydrate skin and gently smooth out fine lines.
