Clearasil Ultra Overnight Spot Patches Review
I was on the computer the other day and I came across a product that I wish I would have found years ago – Clearasil Ultra Overnight Spot Patches, and this is my personal review.
I feel like I research something and get excited about it and when I try it I am let down because it doesn’t deliver the results I expected.
I am excited to say that I have found something that works for zapping a zip overnight!
The product is Clearasil Ultra Overnight Spot Patches which claims to heal pimples overnight. I feel like I have tried everything, so I decided to give these a try considering they were cheap at Target.
Before I purchased them, I did some research on what these patches were and why they claim to heal a pimple overnight. The main advantage to these is the hydrocolloid technology they provide, which I will explain later.
The box comes with 18 small adhesive patches that almost look like small, circular Band-Aids.
Clearasil Ultra Overnight Spot Patches How to Use
How I used them:
I washed my face to remove all my makeup and then used a toner to remove any remaining traces of makeup. Once my skin was dry I took one of the patches and applied it to the pimple and rubbed it on to make sure it was securely on.
When I placed it on the pimple it was slightly raised because the pimple I was getting was a cystic one, so it was painful and raised up on my skin.

Clearasil Ultra Overnight Spot Patches Results
My Personal Results:
I left the Clearasil Ultra Overnight Spot Patches on overnight and when I woke up I was amazed to the results I saw!
The raised pimple was flat and no longer painful. The patch had raised up where the pimple was and seemed to suck all the gunk out of the pimple.
See the picture below. I removed the patches and put them on a black background so you can see the gunk that was pulled out of my pimples! Disregard the Bare Minerals…I just used that to demonstrate since it had a black background.
Seeing what was pulled out of my pimple overnight was satisfying! I was happy the infection was pulled out of the pore and no longer festering!
How the Clearasil Ultra Overnight Spot Patches Work
Hydrocolloid Technology Explained
The Clearasil Ultra Overnight Spot Patches have hydrocolloid technology which after researching this it basically means once placed on the pimple they seal out any bacteria from getting into the skin.
By using this patch on a pimple, it also helps to reduce the inflammation that is present and helps the pimple heal quicker while absorbing the puss, oil and secretion that is in the pimple.
These are also very beneficial to people that tend to pick at pimples. By having this patch over the pimple it prevents any unnecessary touching or picking at the pimple.
The Clearasil Ultra Overnight Spot Patches are small enough that you could almost put one on your skin during the day without it being overly noticeable, but as the gunk starts to come to a head, it is a bit more noticeable.
Once I removed the patch from the pimple the patch turned a little white and got slightly puffy and fat where the pimple was being covered.
The reason for this is because it sucked the nastiness out of the pimple and transferred it from the skin to the patch.
In the past I would use a spot treatment if I felt a pimple coming on, but this would usually result in dry flaky skin and irritate my skin even more and take even longer for the pimple to heal.
Would I Recommend the Clearasil Ultra Overnight Spot Patches?
The Clearasil Ultra Overnight Spot Patches are great because they do not dry the skin out at all and they are not painful to remove from the skin.
The whole concept to these makes sense because a pimple is basically an infected pore and when you cut yourself and get an infected cut usually it is covered with a band aid to help it heal.
This is the same concept except these contain hydrocolloid which to me is just a slightly thicker band aid which is placed on a pimple to help speed up the healing process.
I would recommend the Clearasil Ultra Overnight Spot Patches to heal a pimple or two overnight.
They worked great for me as an overnight spot treatment but would not be effective as an overall acne treatment.
It wouldn’t be cost effective to cover your whole face in patches nor would it treat your entire face.
You need more than just a pimple patch to fight the ongoing battle of acne, and you can read about my experience using Curology here, but for a quick zit zap, I think these work well!
